At around 2:15 pm today, Blasdell fire department was dispatched to a report of a garage fire at 110 Labelle Avenue in the Village. The balance of the first alarm was also dispatched activating Big Tree, Newton Abbott, Woodlawn and Orchard Park FAST Team. First arriving Chief's reported a 2 car detached garage with an exposure problem of a neighboring garage with heavy smoke and fire conditions. Blasdell's Engine first on scene hit a hydrant and starting stretching handlines. Newton Abbott's Quint was second due and hit  a second hydrant coming in from the other direction. Newton Abbott's crew pulled a 2-1/2" line and started to knock down the fire while gaining entry through the garage door. Additional manpower was called in from Scranton, Armor and an additional Engine from Newton Abbott. The fire is under investigation by the Blasdell Police and the Erie County Sheriff's Department.
