Membership Privileges
Membership with Newton Abbott Fire Company, Inc isn’t “all work and no play.” We enjoy a variety of organized social events, have access to our beautiful grove for certain events, and are entitled to LOSAP benefits. Some of our events are also community-driven.
Events include:
- Annual Awards Banquet
- Family Picnic
- Firemen’s Day at the Erie County Fair
- Fire Prevention Details at local schools or public gathering places
- Halloween Detail in the neighborhoods
- Annual Food Drive
- Adult, and Children’s Christmas parties
Additionally, members have access to a well-equipped gymnasium at the fire station, an upper-level outdoor balcony with grill, and a recreation room (with cable HD TV and comfy chairs), with a kitchenette. It’s not unusual to find a firefighter or three hanging out around the station, going over equipment or just relaxing upstairs.
Active firefighters are also eligible for education benefits, under certain conditions. Read here for a program managed by the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York.
